    Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference

    All day
    2019.10.20

Welcome Message from the Conference Organizing Committee

On behalf of the organizing committee of the 69th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference (CCEC 2019), we are pleased to welcome you to Halifax, Nova Scotia, October 20-23, 2019 where we will enjoy the state of the art newly opened Halifax Convention Centre.

The CCEC 2019 conference program will explore the theme of “Synergy and Innovation through Community Engagement”, focusing on the evolving landscape of roles and interactions between chemical engineers and society (community-driven research, sustainability, industry/academia partnerships, commercialization, equity and diversity initiatives and research).  The program will showcase industrially-relevant examples of commercial advancement and insight into potential pathways for graduates exploring links between their research and the broader community through three special symposia: Emerging and Applied Industrial ResearchChemical Engineering in the Community, and Entrepreneurial Advancement and Globalization.  This year’s plenary lectures and honorary symposia will also focus on recognizing leaders in chemical engineering who have made significant contributions to the research landscape in Canada or abroad.

CCEC 2019 will continue to build on the Emerging Leaders in Chemical Engineering special plenary sessions, with a call for nominations expected early in 2019. The conference will also feature several core technical sessions, and an integrated student program for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Halifax was recently named one of the top 10 global destinations on the rise in TripAdvisor’s 2018 Traveler’s Choice Awards, and is home to a vibrant and multi-cultural community and both developing and established industry.  Situated on Canada’s eastern shore, Nova Scotia boasts a diversity of landscapes from the highlands of Cape Breton, to the sandy beaches of the southern shores, to the vineyards of the Annapolis Valley (https://www.novascotia.com). We welcome you to come for the conference, and encourage you to stay and explore the province and fall festivities.

We look forward to working with the Canadian chemical engineering community and our atlantic university partners to make the 69th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference a great success.

We look forward to seeing you in Halifax in October 2019.
